Paige Cohen from New York approached me for her first picture book after seeing my illustrations and design work online on the SCBWI website. She reached out and we scheduled a Zoom meeting so she could share her idea and ask questions.

After the Zoom meeting, she sent me the manuscript of her book. Above all, the book had to radiate the feeling of summer. That feeling that is sometimes so difficult to describe, but which we all know. Based on her manuscript, I started making sketches that I could immediately place in a book form together with the text and a chosen font so that she could follow exactly what the book would ultimately look like.

After she approved the sketches, I started working on the sketches one by one and shared each completed page with her so she could follow the process. After the book was finished, I created a sparkling cover that immediately captured the feeling of summer.

In the last step I helped her upload the book to IngramSpark, unlike Amazon KDP, you can have a hardcover printed here with 24 pages.

You can order the book by following this link.

Mireille illustrated my book and she did an amazing job. She is very talented and detailed in her work. She was so helpful in helping me in this process and did extra to help me since it was my first book.
I highly recommend her and I will definitely ask her again to illustrate my next book.
