The publishing duo of A House of Legends contacted me after they found my website via Google. They were looking for help with the design of the new picture book Carlos the Gekko, written and illustrated by Kaj and Joeri Gorgels.
In a first meeting I answered many of their questions. In a second meeting, much was already clear, but they still had a few questions. With my knowledge and experience in design and print, I quickly got them on the right track. With the extremely tight deadline we had no time to lose. Text and illustrations were send to me so pretty quickly I was able to present a first layout. From there we could continue fine-tuning, ultimately sending two files to the printer; the cover file and the interior.
For the pre-sale, I made several 3D mockups from the cover file that could be shared on the social media channels. On the first day of pre-sale more than 600 books were sold.
