Canva is convenient. It’s fast. It gives people a sense of control and creativity, which is great. But there are some pitfalls to that concept. Think of it this way: swap out “Canva” for “Lamborghini.” Owning a race car doesn’t make you a racing driver. First, you need to learn how to drive, then take a racing course, and probably something about safety as well. I wouldn’t know, I never had the ambition to become a racing driver. My ambition, however, was to become the best designer and DTP specialist I could be. And while it might sound cliché to call it my passion, I still enjoy my work so much that it never truly feels like work.
2025 was the year when countless people knocked on my digital door after enthusiastically starting their project in Canva, only to crash into obstacles like colorful landmark issues, curbs of crop marks and bleed, or resolution settings. All small details, but essential for print.
And that’s where I show up with my little AAA rescue car. I create technically sound print files. When I receive Canva files, I use them as a foundation, but I rebuild them into files a printer can actually work with. It may sound simple, but that step is exactly what separates amateurs from professionals. Companies that work with me don’t need to fear unpleasant surprises. They receive a PDF that’s correct, and, ultimately, print work that looks as professional as it should.
