For me, it reflects how many different channels there are these days to stay in touch. It sounds great… but is it really?
I’m someone who keeps social media on silent. I don’t need push notifications from the news or constant pings every time someone posts or sends something. My phone is usually on vibrate, and only for calls, WhatsApp messages, and email.
So when a client first reaches out via email, then calls, then sends files through Messenger, and also sends a DM on Instagram to check if everything arrived… I completely lose track, and things turn into chaos.
And I don’t like chaos.
That’s why I always request in the first conversation that I prefer everything via email. For urgent matters: a quick WhatsApp message or a phone call.
It keeps things clear.
At least, for me.
