Although I've been hearing about the well-known "niche" for 22 years, I've never actually pursued it. First of all, I'm a Libra, and they can never make a decision. Secondly, I love variety. I can't imagine having to only create new logos every day or just design websites. No, it's that diversity in my work that keeps my creativity flowing every day.
Just like with the story about the thriller cover, I was a bit surprised by this request. "I'm looking for someone to help me with the design of my book and twelve illustrations."
The design? Yes, that's a no-brainer. But those editorial illustrations? That's quite different from drawing little monsters for a children's book. When such a request comes in, I immediately start to get those little tingles of excitement. Yeah, this is great! But oh dear, is this really something I can do?
After our first conversation, we began working together. Now, months later, the book is finished. Thirteen illustrations and 208 pages later, I’m proud of the result. It was incredibly hard work, blood, sweat, and tears, but oh, how proud I am!

Wow, I'm so happy with you, Mireille! You not only designed my book beautifully, but you truly turned it into a visual work of art. With such care and creativity, you searched for the perfect image for each chapter. Sometimes it was a hit right away, sometimes we needed a few extra rounds, but nothing was too much trouble for you. You always knew exactly what suited the content.
And then the overall design of the book... beyond fantastic! The end result is not only beautiful, but it exceeded all my expectations. You literally and figuratively gave my words color and power.
